"Power of sound, maintained tuning, regularity of touch and maximum reliability are the
qualities widely recognized in the instruments that I build and restore.
Furthermore for this product line, especially designed for studio use, I wanted to introduce
constructive and musical elements which would respect the traditional criteria of Harpsichord
art.
The soundboards are in weathered Alpine spruce from Val di Fiemme; quarter cutting and
the parallelism of the fibres guarantee the maximum resonance. Accurate bridges and rib sizing
bestow the soundboard with the best possible degree of elasticity and a highly persistent
sound, which is powerful in the lows and "cantabile" in the high register. The balancing
of each key and the fine regulation of the jacks give great precision to the mechanics and security
to the touch. I personally carry out the voicing and final tuning, scrupulously.
Due to the care taken with these particulars, "Studio Line" instruments lend themselves to
all musical repertoires for harpsichords, both for the harmonic and rhythmic precision of
the "continuo", the importance of a counterpoint and the finesse of a "stile galante".
This line's instruments, however, are characterized by their essential construction which allow low
production costs without having to compromise acoustic qualities. Finally, the sturdiness and
the mechanical quality of these instruments make an ideal line for the harpsichord study in
schools and conservatories.
The three instruments of the "Linea da Studio": CONTINUUM, GENIUS and GENIUS PLUS
are available in the warehouse of Clavicembali e Temperamenti".
