Master Instruments Line
       |
|
This product line unites the four models of the historical keyboard instruments that Maestro Claudio Tuzzi constructs according to a client's requirements. There is not in stock, but instruments may be seen and tried depending on availability in the workshop.
Replicas of Historical Bentside Spinet originals, Italian Harpsichord originals, Flemish Harpsichord
originals and French Harpsichord originals are built by Claudio Tuzzi on the basis of the
observations and research carried out on technical data provided by the foremost European
museums respecting the traditional criteria of the art of harpsichord-making, nonetheless
introducing materials and modern techniques in order to optimise the structural and musical
characteristics.
Furthermore, every instrument of this line is built considering the relative customer's personal
requirements. The results of this philosophy are straightforward, honest instruments that,
with the maximum degree of reliability, satisfy the highest and most personal musical demands.
By virtue of the use of first-rate materials and owing to Claudio Tuzzis' personally following
all the constructive and musical phases, this line of instruments is perfect and powerful
in their sound, regular in their touch, they maintain tuning and are usable immediately
in any conditions. Moreover, they lend themselves to the entire harpsichord repertoire;
this is by virtue of the harmonic and rhythmic precision of the "continuo", the
importance of a counterpoint and the finesse of the "stile galante".
All the instruments have soundboards in first choice spruce from the Val di Fiemme (the same wood used for Stradivarius violins) weathered and quarter sawn to guarantee parallelism of the fibres; width varies from 1,5 to 4,0mm depending on the traditional criteria of harpsichord craftsmanship that consent reaching maximum resonance.
Correct positioning and punctual dimensioning of bridges and ribs grant the soundboard with
an optimal degree of elasticity without causing permanent deformation of the soundboard.
The result is a greatly persistent sound, with powerful bass and "cantabile" in high register.
The keyboard may be chosen with keys covered in Italian boxwood, bone, ebony or rosewood.
Maximum reliability in mechanics and touch security is derived from the balancing of each
key and the fine adjustment of the pearwood jacks.
The jacks are complete with length adjusting screws and a micrometric
screw to regulate projection from the quill. This permits the harpsichordist to maintain
final voicing with simplicity and precision. Primary voicing is personally and professionally
carried out executed by Claudio Tuzzi, professionally and, if requested, touch and key dip
can be finely customised according to customer's needs.
The wrestplank is made in solid cherrywood uniting three layers of crossed fibre to ensure
tuning stability.
The anchorage and delimitation points of the strings' vibrating part are made of gold-plated metal to facilitate string scrolling and tuning precision.
The hinges are hand-cut in brass from original designs. In Flemish and French harpsichords,
the rose on the soundboard is covered in gold leaf. All instruments are supplied with an
accessory kit including a scalpel with spare blade for voicing and wood blocks, plectra and
felts for spare dampers, a tuning fork, a screwdriver for jack adjustment and a complete set
of strings with a noose.
Decoration:
It is possible to have instruments with the soundboard entirely painted in tempera or with a floral garland around the rose.
On customer request, internal decorations can be made in antiquated Ruckers paper and landscapes are painted in oil according to the historical original.
Cases can be lacquered with Venetian or antiquated lacquer.
